Welcome to ArchiCAD 8.1

Welcome to ArchiCAD 8.1, the latest version of Graphisoft's dedicated CAD program for the architectural and building professions.
Please read through this document that provides helpful information about the installation procedure and the content of the new ArchiCAD 8.1 package.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Software: Windows 2000, Windows XP
(ArchiCAD will not start under Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, Windows ME)
MS Internet Explorer 5.5 or later (6.0 recommended);
QuickTime 6 or later.
Hardware: Intel Pentium 4 or compatible CPU
(the faster the better; at least 1 GHz processor speed is recommended)
Memory and Disk Space:
512 MB of RAM at least.
Standard Open GL graphic cards are recommended with onboard video memory of 64 MB.

Monitors with more than 256 colors mode and with a minimum resolution of 1024x768 pixels are required.
About 250 MB free hard disk space is required for a full installation of ArchiCAD 8.1. More free hard disk space is required according to model complexity (500 as a minimum, over 1 GB recommended for complex projects and 3D visualization).
